Inspiration for the Traffic of Tomorrow
Precisely timed, nearly frictionless and fast. These are the associations one makes with Japanese rail transport, which is regarded worldwide as extremely efficient. In order to be prepared for the future, a delegation from the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism visited Karlsruhe on January 24. The focus was on an exchange about the joint project LogIKTram as a solution for the last mile.
At the meeting of the Japanese delegation with representatives of the Automotive Engineering Network, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Karlsruhe (IHK), the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) as well as the Alb Valley Transport Company (AVG), Christoph Renschler and Dr. Michael Frey (KIT) presented the current status of LogIKTram. In the subsequent discussion, the guests were particularly interested in the impacts on traffic in addition to the technical implementation. Further discussions on this topic are planned for the future.
